Trust & Safety

Safety & moderation.

BadDrivr is a community reporting platform for dashcam-documented driving incidents. This page describes what we do and don't do, how content is reviewed, and how anyone — user or non-user — can raise concerns.

What BadDrivr is, and isn't.

Is

  • A platform for user-submitted incident reports.
  • A tool for organizing reports by plate and location.
  • A place where reports can be reviewed and challenged.
  • A moderated community with public-facing guidelines.

Is not

  • A verifier — we do not independently confirm every submission before display.
  • A court or enforcement body — we do not determine fault.
  • A driver-identification tool — we do not name drivers or use DMV records.
  • A surveillance service — exact home addresses are not displayed publicly.

How moderation works.

Reports go through a combination of automated review and human moderation. Community members can also flag content for review.

  • Automated review

New reports are scanned for rule violations — including known-harmful content, likely personal information, and signals that a report may be manipulated or miscategorized. Matches on zero-tolerance categories are escalated immediately.

  • Human moderation

Flagged content, borderline cases, and appeals go to a human reviewer. Our Community Guidelines describe what we remove and why.

  • Community flagging

Any user can flag a report or comment. Repeated false flags count against an account; abusing the flag system is itself a rules violation.

Challenge a report.

If a report on BadDrivr concerns you or a vehicle you own, there's a path to ask us to review it — whether or not you have an account.

Users

In the app

Open the report, tap the flag icon, choose the reason, and add any relevant context. You're notified when review completes.

Non-users

Takedown request form

You do not need a BadDrivr account to request review. Our takedown form covers non-user vehicle-owner requests alongside DMCA, NCII, defamation, harassment, and privacy requests.

Vehicle owners

Claim your plate

Vehicle owners can claim a plate in the app to post a public driver reply on reports tied to that plate. Claiming is subject to our Community Guidelines and is reviewable for abuse.

Illegal content.

Some categories of content are never allowed on BadDrivr and are removed as soon as they're identified or reported.

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

Prohibited. Matches against the NCMEC hashlist trigger automated reporting to the NCMEC CyberTipline and to law enforcement.

  • Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)

Prohibited. Valid requests under the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act are processed within 48 hours of receipt via the takedown form.

  • Copyright infringement (DMCA)

Notices must include the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). See our DMCA / Copyright page for specifics.

  • Defamation, harassment, and stalking

Use the takedown form to submit a complaint with supporting context. We review and respond on the record.

  • Doxxing / personal information

Posting or facilitating access to someone's home address, workplace, daily route, or other private identifying information violates our Community Guidelines and is removed.

Law enforcement requests.

BadDrivr responds to valid legal process. For preservation requests, subpoenas, court orders, or emergency-disclosure inquiries, contact moderation@baddrivr.com. We respond on the record and request documentation sufficient to validate the legal basis for the request before producing any information.
